I was under the impression, based on 3/17 press release by president, effective 3/6 and during the COVID-19 pandemic, Medicare will make payment for Medicare telehealth services furnished to patients in broader circumstances
Best way to document real-time (FT or Skype) telehealth
Does anyone have a consent document you are currently using?
Is there a way to print the slides from this presentation
Is the time taken to call in or send in a prescription to the Pharmacy included in total time ?
Since we are unable to see the patient for the next 7 days from the inital visit, how should we proceed in the event the patient’s condition worsens within the next 7 days?
Can we charge self pay rates for this?
I am a little confused. Are we able to bill for just a phone call?
Waiving the deductibles would mean collecting nothing for the service and actually result in saving the patient the amount they would have to pay another doctor. no reason an OD should do this IMO.
Can you bill the two G codes together?
During a synchronous event, if we could separate the external photos from the exam, is it appropriate to bill for this?
Our office voice mail says to call our cell phone for emergencies. If an established pt does this do they still need to initiate the visit via the patient portal? In other words can we get reimbursed for just a phone call?
So can we bill for only established patients or both new and established patients?
If during the history of the established patient with potential bacterial conjunctivitis includes fever, shortness of breath, can you order the COVID-19 test for the patient ?
When providing telemedicine care, do patients sign a form prior to the initiation of treatment releasing the provider of liability since we are not seeing the patient in person (ie slit lamp, using NaFL, etc)
Why would anyone bill the 99421-99423 codes over the E&M codes when the reimbursement is so different?
It's an unrealistic expectation that a 95 year old AMD patient is going to log in to a portal to initiate an encounter.
Am I seeing this right, are we to close our office immediately to routine eye care? Are glaucoma or AMD follow-ups, or cataract post-op visits considered routine?
If we use telehealth can we just have a global fee for patient to pay…collect payment at end of session and skip insurance?

If the pt needs a test review update in this time that they should stay home can we bill for that even though it's planned and not within 7 days of the test done? Although not emergent

if we do not have a patient portal, but patient initiated consultation with a phone call to office or doctor’s cell phone and Skype or FaceTime follows, can telehealth services be billed to medicare? Or is a patient portal necessary?
do state rules against telehealth exams block us from doing telehealth
or does this federal mandate override state board laws
Can we bill for a vision therapy session done via skype or zoom?
At the beginning of the webinar, the CDC guidelines just released this evening state to postpone eye care visits, should you tell the patients about this recommendation?
